Custom portrait commissions
Custom portraits are made-to-order artwork and are governed by the Custom Portrait Agreement accepted electronically during checkout. The exact agreement version and text accepted by the customer are saved with the order. A watermarked final proof is sent after the painting is complete. Minor changes may be requested only when the artist determines they are technically reasonable and possible in watercolor without substantially repainting, redesigning, or restarting the artwork.
Custom portrait payment
The deposit percentage shown in the signed agreement is required before painting begins. The remaining balance becomes due after final-proof approval and before release or shipment. Under the current commission policy, a customer may cancel before the first final proof is sent and for 5 calendar days after the first final proof is sent, provided the final proof has not already been approved. The deposit remains non-refundable once work has begun. A timely cancellation means the finished artwork is not delivered and no remaining balance is due.
Non-custom merchandise returns
Returns of non-custom merchandise are accepted within 14 days. Buyers are responsible for return shipping costs. Items should be returned in their original condition. If an item is not returned in its original condition, the buyer is responsible for any loss in value. Contact us before sending a return so the correct return instructions can be provided.
Frames and website mockups
Frames are not included or provided with Custom Portraits. Framed presentations shown on the website are visual mockups intended to help customers picture the artwork.
Gift certificates
Gift certificates do not expire. Partial balances remain available on the same certificate code until the balance is used or the certificate is otherwise invalidated because of fraud, chargeback, refund, or another legitimate account correction. Gift certificates cannot be used to purchase another gift certificate.
Shipping, loss, and damage
Shipping charges and any free-shipping threshold are shown or calculated at checkout. Custom commissions are shipped with tracking and insurance when shipping is required. Contact us within 7 days if a shipment is lost, shown as delivered but not received, or arrives damaged. Keep the item, packaging, shipping label, and photographs needed for a carrier claim. Carrier transit and delivery dates are estimates rather than guarantees.
Copyright and reproduction
Purchasing physical artwork does not transfer copyright or automatically grant reproduction, merchandise, licensing, print, card, mug, resale, or other commercial rights. Custom-portrait portfolio display is controlled by the portfolio/privacy choice accepted with that commission.
Payment and order records
Payment processing may be provided by a third-party payment provider. Order and payment records may be retained for fulfillment, customer service, accounting, tax, dispute resolution, fraud prevention, and other legitimate business or legal purposes.
